What is LAUGH?
A comedy writing workshop with an accent on generating ideas from real life and crafting them into comedy material.
What you will do?
Observe life and then lie about it.
Can you teach comedy? Perhaps not, but you can have a damn good time trying. In this session you will discuss - and possibly disagree over - the principles of comedy. You'll do some conventional writing exercises and some less conventional improvisation exercises. You'll examine an episode of The Simpsons to identify useful comedy techniques, devise your own comic characters, experiment with dialogue and comic narrative, and locate your own, unique comic voice. And laugh: a lot.
